Position:  Accountant-Payables in Charge

 

Required Qualifications & Responsibilities:

Finance/Accounting graduate with at least 7 years UAE experience in Payables accounting.

 

·         Ensures all invoices, payments and adjustments to suppliers’ statement of accounts and ledgers are accurately processed in the accounting system, and updates accurate data for costing.

·         Regularly advise the Chief Accountant on invoices due for payment either on the basis of settlement terms and credit limits or taking advantage of early settlement discounts.

·         Identifies long overdue invoices and unusual entries in supplier accounts and ledgers. Ensures that errors and/or misstatements are identified, investigated and highlighted to Chief Accountant.

·         Reconciles suppliers’ statements of account with the General Ledger and monitors accounts to ensure disbursements are allocated to relevant invoices.

·         Ensures that outstanding balances due to Affiliates are monitored separately, and regularly reconciled.

·         Maintains a schedule for monitoring advance payments to suppliers and reminder notifications received for late payments.

·         Provides supplier statements and Balance Confirmations upon request.

·         Prepares and update Accounts Payable Aging Report on a regular basis.

·         Prepares quarterly reconciliations of key supplier accounts including affiliates to get confirmation & accurate balances.

·         Responds to Supplier enquiries and regularly updates the Chief Accountant on pressing issues raised by Suppliers, especially on reminder mails received.

·         Coordinates the processing of new supplier accounts and any approved changes to existing supplier information.

·         Collates data relevant for the preparation of the rolling cash flow forecast.

·      Participates in Company’s financial audits as directed by Chief Accountant.

Job Title: Senior Credit Officer

Location: Dubai - UAE

Reporting to: Group Credit Control Director

Job Description:

 

The Senior Credit Officer position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. Establish and supervise the development of credit control department over the group.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  • Develop the firm’s credit and billing policy in collaboration with the Group Credit Control Director.
  • Enhance collection and Credit Control procedures, and improve systems and structure with the help of the IT department and accountants.
  • Reviewing the government Accounts to make sure that:
    1. All related invoices are uploaded accordingly to Government online System (portal) based on it regulations
    2. Contacting the concerned Government’s Staff to solve any raised issue facing the invoices uploading process
    3. Make sure that our ERB system is serving our observation to control the online uploading process (developing Reports to provide the preventive needed actions)
  • Report to the Group Credit Control Director on a weekly/monthly basis, aged debt analysis and cash collection forecasts.
  • Suggest the credit terms for each customer and review the terms on semi-annual basis.
  • Ensure the implementation of collection and credit control procedures, and ensure the availability of the resources to carry out the tasks effectively during the growth of the company to guarantee the collection of due payments on time.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date client details and account records
  • Ensure timely postings of payments and invoices, and that payments are applied correctly to the invoices.
  • Obtain sufficient information to assess the credit worthiness of new and existing clients, by communicating with agencies, banks and review payment history with the company.
  • Monitor overdue payments, Post Dated checks, returned checks, and manage the collection team and coordinate with accountants.
  • Handle disputed accounts and negotiate with clients to bring payment in line with terms
  • Undertake reconciliations and compile documentation for legal action as necessary, including maintaining and keeping sales contracts and official letters.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as and when required by Group Credit Control Director
  • Assist in selecting lawyers for each territories, and ensure all required documents are ready for legal action.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a higher accountancy professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA, etc.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or equivalent from a recognized University will also be considered.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of progressive relevant experience in Financial Management, Auditing, Accounting or a related field is required, of which at least two years should be at a comparable position.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating and supervising all financial transactions and the preparation of periodic financial reports for the Company and providing advice & support to the Finance Manager on financial and administrative matters.

  • Coordinates and supervises the monthly financial close of the Company
  • Identifies problem account balances and unusual transactions in related accounts and highlights them to Finance Manager.
